GSF RAIL INFRA bv produces and supplies the patented GS foundation system for overhead lines, noise barriers and signal masts, and installs these foundations using its own innovative ground-displacing installation process based on high-frequency vibration. We install turnkey where we operate — and license contractors to deliver the same system in other markets.
Faster. Better. Dependable.
More than 20 years of experience in foundations and railway construction.
Knowledge, experience and innovation under one roof
The most adaptable foundation system
Ground-displacing Shield Foundation (GSF)
A new foundation basis:
There are five basic variants of the GSF foundation element, depending on soil conditions and load.
In addition, there are many specials, including 4-wing and extended variants.
- Can be used for almost all soil types
- Suitable for most common masts
THE PATENTED GSF PROCESS
Foundation and mast installation in one process:
GSF RAIL INFRA bv not only supplies the most suitable foundations for each location, but also offers its efficient and fast installation process, providing a solution for every situation.
The foundation elements are vibrated into the ground in a time-saving and highly efficient manner.
The benefits of the GSF foundation system.
Vibrating the foundation element into the ground
- Ground-displacing foundation method
- Only one crane with GS vibration unit required
- No excavation needed, so no soil removal
- Compaction of the soil around the foundation increases ground resistance
- The foundation can be extracted or recycled; the same vibration process can be used to remove it without leaving anything behind.
Benefits of the GSF foundation system
- One supplier for both: foundation element + vibration process = complete foundation system
- Wide range of applications
- Sustainable in multiple ways
- Immediately load bearing after installation
- Market-leading installation speed: approx. 12–15 minutes per foundation element
- High stability
- Capacity: Classic system up to approx. 350–500 kNm; GS-Open / traverses up to 1000 kNm
- Patented reliability
- Maximum quality and service life >80 years
- Maintenance-free
Stability testing using the finite element method:
Soil conditions
- Standard software (Plaxis3D)
Applicability
- For almost all soil types and compositions
- For all common mast types
Service life:
- > 80 years
The individual steps of the installation process
STEP 1
Installation using a single (railway) crane
STAP 2
Preparing the foundation for installation
STEP 3
Picking up the foundation element in the GS vibration unit
STEP 4
Positioning the foundation element
STEP 5
Installing the guide pin
STEP 6
Installing the ground-displacing shield foundation element
STEP 7
Checking and recording the position of the foundation element
STEP 8
Installing the top plate
STEP 9
Installing the anchors for mast installation
Total installation time per foundation element:
12–15 minutes
